Cyber for Youth x SolveSquad
For most young people, being a digital citizen is the norm; however, the cyberspace can be
a rapidly changing environment which can be a challenge to navigate, especially when
considering the possibility of technological threats.
Thankfully, there is a positive platform that exists to protect youth and provide a way to
better engage in the digital world.
Cyber for Youth (C4Y) is a digital initiative which exists to equip youth with a deeper
understanding of safety online. Through this platform, young people are able to educate
themselves on the do’s and don’ts of online engagement, information security, and digital
education.
The for-youth, by-youth initiative has rapidly expanded from a US-based nonprofit to an
international platform, with over 100 volunteers, digital ambassadors and team members
spread across four continents; raising awareness and advocating for safer practices online,
engaging youth through digital safety workshops and gatherings, building growth through
strategic partnerships, and maximising impact across the youth space.
As founder and executive director Ria Sethi states,
“Anyone, anywhere in the world, can be part of this mission by using our resources, running local events, or joining our international ambassador team. ”
For the future of the digital sector, creating safe spaces and changing the conversation
around cybersecurity is crucial; and Cyber for Youth is preparing and equipping the next
generation for the challenges that lie ahead.
